The Dead South - Tiny Wooden Box

Shaun Henning of New Take Films directed the music video for “Tiny Wooden Box” by The Dead South, developing a visual approach that reflects the band’s country and western style. Filmed largely outdoors in an open prairie setting, the landscape provides a grounded backdrop that supports the tone of the track while allowing the performance to lead.

Henning kept the look simple and cohesive, working primarily with natural light, enhanced through the use of subtle colour filtration to shape mood and tone. The camera work stayed close and deliberate, capturing performance details and the interplay between band members, resulting in a focused final piece that aligns with the band’s sound and aesthetic.
